Welcome to this months newsletter.

Firstly I’d like to apologise for not sending a newsletter last month. I’ve just started a new job and it’s a little full on.

We have two new members to the fold, Adam Cooper (can’t be any worse than his dad) and Phil Wotton so welcome to them.

A word regarding the VC last Saturday, Danny was professional to the end. Not swearing with ladies around, arranging insurance forms & cards and conducting the presentation. It was so impressive; he has that job at every event. Well done, it was like a new man.

No Show/No Contact

It’s becoming increasingly more frustrating trying to arrange our golf days when there’s a lack of communication or just bad manners. There are also cost implications to consider when you fall to attend. Last Saturday we had two people drop out.  One alerted me on the Friday evening (and was willing to pay regardless) but the other didn’t alert me at all. It was only when we arrived on the Sat morning that someone mentioned this person wasn’t coming.

In situations like this we are at the clubs mercy. They are within their rights to charge the full price for non-attendance as most require at least 72 hours notice. We were lucky on this occasion as Addington only asked for a token payment towards the food so these costs will be passed onto the people concerned. I will be asking at the AGM that we implement a hefty fine for any no show/no contacts in the future.

It’s up to you. All it takes is a 30sec phone call or a quick email to me!
