Financial Report        

• Figures were distributed at AGM.

• Healthy year again with a current balance of £1515.70 More then enough for deposits and eventualities

• (2008 = £1879.87, 2007 = £1800.00)

Membership Fee         

• Will REMAIN AT £10.00 with £5.00 singles entry.

Handicaps      

• No Changes but an explanation was requested on the cutting system.

• If your handicap is 0-10, you drop 1 shot for winning
  If your handicap is 11-20, you drop 2 shots for winning and 1 shot for 2nd or 3rd
  If your handicap is 21-36, you drop 3 shots for winning, 2 shots for 2nd and 1 shot for 3rd
  It was agreed that your handicap will remain the same unless you win a prize. I.E. if you score 38 pts yet come 4th, No cut!!
  Honesty – If you play on a regular basis and your handicap is less then your society one, change it? You’re only cheating yourself after all!

Chairman's Report 

• Apologies for not attending tour this year, credit crunch and so on. Hope to be there next year. Good to see Tony Howlett. Many thanks to our sponsors

Captain’s Report 

• Members total 34     Membership Fee Currently £10 p.a.

• Reservations            Notice is required. to book your place at each match please inform the Captain by each deadline

• New Shirts              Lighter Weight Navy with Gold Logo will be ordered. Send you payment to Tony ASAP .

• Shirt Fines              Ware your society shirt or pay up!

Format

• It was reported that some members questioned the format of selecting groups when on a golf day. The response was that unless groups are either requested, buggies are involved or you have guests playing all groups will be determined by the pulling of cards.

Courses

• Although we try to play a variety of courses, we are still limited as we want society days on a Saturday. Most clubs have members only until at least 11am. Crown golf allows societies at most of their clubs but we are still trying to find alternatives.

Clothing

• The new golf shirt will cost around £15.00 These will have the CGS logo. Please inform Tony Hussein if you want one.

Chain of Command

• In the absence of Tony H, P&P will take charge of the monies collected.

• Confusion at Dale Hill lead to problems afterwards and we are keen to avoid this in the future.

• Tony will e-mail society day paperwork in advance in case of absence.

• Please note that any items included (tea, coffee etc) in the price are always indicated on the flyer received prior to the day.

Holiday

• Portugal (Penina Vilamoura) was requested by many with one request (made in Romany) to consider USA

• Paul Griffiths to get details from contact in Algarve

Costs

• Although we try to keep a society day beneath £60, this is becoming more difficult. We will try to cater for all where possible.

Christmas Party

• Terry Ward to confirm details of Elvis entertainer comedian and venue. Will probably arrange xmas golf day around this. 

 Trophies

• It was confirmed that Players Player of the Year trophy had always been a claret jug and that Golfer of the Year had been a bronzed golfer. This has been confused over the past two seasons but will now revert back.
